QuizTalk Program Structure

Please note:
  • QuizTalk begins at the preliminary level, where all participating schools take part in the Regional 'Brilla' STEM Assessment, a standardized exam designed to test students' understanding and application of core STEM concepts.
  • Following the exam, teams are required to participate in an Innovative STEM Idea Challenge, where they present a creative and practical STEM-based solution to a real-world problem. Each team must not only explain their idea but also provide a basic simulation, demonstration, or model to enhance understanding and showcase the feasibility of their concept.
  • Schools are encouraged to keep their solutions simple, innovative, and achievable within their means, focusing on creativity and relevance rather than complexity.
  • Throughout this phase, scores from both the STEM examination and the project presentation are combined to determine overall performance. At the end of the preliminaries, the top 27 highest-scoring schools across all regions will advance to the prestigious national level of the competition, where they will compete for the ultimate QuizTalk title.
  • Schools that reach the finals will have a seeding right to seed at the quarter-final. stage of the national contest for the following season. The utlimate winner with the best project idea wins a seed fund worth $10,000.00 (USD) to pitch the idea to prospective investors. Other amazing prizes include free shopping vouchers, exclusive bragging rights, ONE MONTH of full media publicity, and a short trip to the Ministry of Science and Technology.
  • There are four (4) rounds in the national contest.
